Family of Jordan Green issue formal statement

30 June 2012

Following speculation in the National Press, Heidi Green the mother of Jordan Green from Harrogate, who took his own life, has moved to issue a formal statement:

The last few days have been very difficult for those closest to Jordan.

The situation has been made more difficult by inappropriate comments being made on facebook and miss-reporting of what actually happened by the National Press.

Seeing tribute pages to Jordan being used as a forum for encouraging violence has also been very upsetting.

Inaccurate stories in the national press has only created confusion. The fact is, nobody understands why Jordan did what he did and we very much want the police and authorities to pursue their investigations to find out.

We would like to thank all of Jordan’s friends who have said such nice words and to the close family friends who are helping us through this.

At this time we do not wish to make any further comment until after the outcome of the inquest.
