Richard Ord took up post as Acting Chief Executive on 1 June 2009 and was formally appointed on 11 January 2010 for a period of two years.
In October 2010 it was agreed to extend the terms of his contract for a further period of time until 31 March 2013 to enable him to lead the full integration process of those Community Services that transferred to this Trust from the North Yorkshire and York Primary Care Trust on 1 April 2011.
At Board of Governors’ Meeting – 2 May 2012 it was agreed to extend his contract until 31 December 2013.
The Board of Governors is not responsible for the appointment of the Chief Executive (in accordance with the Foundation Trust’s Constitution this is a function to be carried out by the Non Executive Directors); however it does have a statutory duty to approve the appointment and any extension to the appointment.
