Fatal Road Traffic Collision, Roundhay Road, Leeds

PolicePolice are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on Roundhay Road, Leeds in the early hours of this morning (21 April 2012).

At around 12.20am a Toyota Yaris and a Nissan Micra were travelling towards Leeds.

As they were approaching Gledhow Valley Road, the Toyota lost control and collided with a traffic light pillar.

The 21 year old male driver from Leeds was taken to the Leeds General Infirmary where he was pronounced dead.

The 23 year old driver of the Micra was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Police are still keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision and are asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 01924 293047.
