Fashion show held at Lightwater Country Shopping Village to raise money for Saint Michael’s Hospice

3 April 2012

Six brave ladies volunteered their time to strut the catwalk and model the new spring collections at Lightwater Country Shopping Village in aid of Saint Michael’s Hospice.

Organised by Rachel Bowen, Kathleen Stockhill and Maureen Watson from the neighbouring village of North Stainley, over 120 people were in attendance as the ladies modelled the new spring collections currently available in the shopping village, from great brands such as Klass, Roman Originals, Alexara, Tigi and Just Elegance to accessories by Mint Jewellery and bags by Stone and Ridgeway Leather.

With the fashion being divided into four distinct collections, from ‘Weekend Wear’ and ‘Ladies who Lunch’, to ‘A day at the Races’ and ‘Cruise and Evening Wear’, the audience were given plenty of fresh ideas for the season ahead and enjoyed an afternoon of sophistication and glamour.

Lightwater Country Shopping Village agreed to donate all proceeds from both the entrance and refreshments sold at the event and Rachel, Kath and Maureen organised a raffle, bringing the combined total raised to over £500 for Saint Michael’s Hospice.

Mark Bainbridge, General Manager at Lightwater Country Shopping Village, said:

We’re so grateful to these brave ladies for volunteering to take part in this fashion show – it takes a lot of guts to get up there and strut your stuff and they all did it so well. All-in-all, this was a fantastic afternoon in an aid of an extremely good cause and Rachel Bowen, Maureen Watson and Kathleen Stockhill should be congratulated for their fundraising efforts in aid of Saint Michael’s Hospice.

Saint Michael’s exists to help people with terminal illness to live and die well. It does this by offering specialist care, comfort and support, free of charge, to patients and their families. It is an independent charity working in the Harrogate District.

Nestled in beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, just off the A1 near Ripon, Lightwater Country Shopping Village offers a wide range of retail shopping.
