Harrogate Railway U12s through to the 4th round of the West Riding Country Cup

7 December 2011

Harrogate Railway U12s progressed to the 4th round of the West Riding County Cup with a 10-1 victory over Farsley Celtic Juniors. Some great play from Sam Barker lead to Max Townson scoring his first of 4 goals after 10 minutes. Jake Layfield provided some great through balls for Max to score.

Aden McCarthy and Josh Quinn linked up well on the right with Josh setting up Max and Albert Ibrahimi with some great crosses.

A fantastic solo effort from Sam meant Railway went in 5-0 up at half time.

The solid midfield of Neil Patience, Albert and Jake were replaced by Dan Dekanski, Jack Clifton and Bryn Sumner who continued to win the battle in midfield.

Sam Barker completing his hat trick with two individual goals and Josh was unlucky not to score himself as the Farsley goalkeeper made some great saves.

Farsley Celtic got a deserved goal back for their persistence and Aidan Green in goal and the back four of Aden, Tom Craddock, Harry Kirk and Tom Warrington were unlucky not to keep a clean sheet.

Jack then rounded off a solid performance with two goals again assisted by Jake Layfield.

A great team performance to get through to the fourth round from all with Man of the Match going to Max Townson.

After the success of winning the League Cup last season, Railway also received some good news that local business Pipe Solutions Ltd have agreed to continue with their supporting roll as sponsor of our squad. All the players, Coaches and parents want to thank Roger Hamilton MD of Pipe Solutions for his continual support.
