Appeal following Harrogate robbery

PoliceDetectives investigating a robbery in Harrogate are appealing for witnesses to help with their enquiries.

The victim, a 27-year-old local man, had his bag and wallet stolen when he was attacked on Leeds Road, next to St Georges roundabout, at around 2am on Thursday 1 December 2011 .

He suffered a minor head injury in the incident and was taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment.

Officers are appealing to anyone with information that could help the investigation, to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Dave Horne, of Harrogate CID, said:

Fortunately the victim wasn’t seriously injured in the incident but he has no recollection of what happened, therefore I am appealing to any witnesses to come forward and help us establish the circumstances.

It is believed that there were four young men in the area at the time of the incident and I would urge them to come forward as they could have information vital to the investigation.

Anyone else who witnessed the incident is also urged to contact the police or Crimestoppers with information.
