Secretary of State makes decision over Harrogate’s Tesco

The Secretary of State has made his decision over the Harrogate Tesco and decided  to not call in the application.



The council wrote to the Secretary of State on Wednesday, 26th October giving a period of 21 days from that date for him to notify the council of his intentions.

This was in accordance with the requirements of Circular 02/2009, the council was required to consult the Secretary of State to give him an opportunity to consider whether or not to call in the application for his own determination given the nature of the proposal.

This decision means that the store can be built unhindered.
