Businessmen become living mannequins for charity

18 October 2011

Two Harrogate businessmen are preparing to swap their offices for a shop window next week in a bid to raise cash for local palliative care charity, Saint Michael’s Hospice.

From Sunday October 23, Ben Davis and Jason Odle who run digital media-based company VIDA Media, will be offering a window shopping experience to remember when they set up home for a week at 47 Parliament Street in the centre of Harrogate (next door to Alberts).

Working, sleeping and eating in full view of passers-by, the two colleagues will also be given various tasks to fulfil during their stay and members of the public will be invited to take an active role in the fundraiser.

Ben and Jason:

Our colleagues on the ‘outside’ will be organising lots of fun activities during the week, and local businesses are offering their help and support, including Philip Lunn of Lateral Property Group who is allowing us to use the building.

Living the life of a mannequin is going to be quite surreal, and there’s a high possibility that we’ll make complete fools of ourselves but we’re happy in the knowledge that any money raised will be going to a great cause.

VIDA Media are raising the money as part of Saint Michael’s annual “You’re Inspired” fundraising challenge.
