Harrogate law firm Berwins has expanded its residential property team with the appointment of two young paralegals.
Emma Carr, 22, previously worked in the firm’s dispute resolution department as a secretary before studying law at Leeds Metropolitan University where she graduated this summer with a first class degree.
I’m looking forward to having greater involvement in client work now that I have completed my degree and am pleased to be living and working in Harrogate again.
Makhsudul Islam, 21, joins the firm from Birmingham where he worked as a legal adviser. A big football fan, he is planning to join the Berwins football team and involve himself in some of the sport related fundraising activities the firm is well known for.
Berwins managing director Paul Berwin said the new positions had been created to manage the department’s increasing workload.
Mr Berwin added:
Residential property transactions have been steady over the past two to three years but we have seen a significant rise in cases in the last six months and the department has become incredibly busy.
The decision to increase the size of the team was taken to ensure we maintain our high standards of service as we grow this part of the business and we’re delighted to welcome Emma and Makhsudul on board.
