Harrogate-News and VIDA Media have today (20th Sept 11) announced a collaboration that will see news stories streamed directly to their media displays being installed in and around Harrogate.

VIDA have a growing number of displays that are being installed in various business premises throughout Harrogate, including Indulge on Hornbeam Park, the builders merchants GH Brooks and the Railway Station. The displays carry a range of information that is configurable for each display, but typically includes company information for where the display is installed and advertising.

Headline news stories will now be streamed from the Harrogate-News website to the displays too.

Tim Cook, Harrogate-News Editor, commented:

Embracing new technology has always been at the forefront of the Harrogate-News website and having an additional and growing channel to connect to the general public is a very welcome addition.

We always aim to be very immediate with stories and especially when there is a level of urgency with a news item – these displays will be especially useful for traffic incidents and urgent police appeals.
