Sexual assault investigations on a York man conclude it did not take place

Detectives investigating an alleged serious sexual assault at Hob Moor in York, have concluded their enquiries and are satisfied that the assault did not take place.

The incident was alleged to have taken place in the early hours of Sunday 31 July 2011 when a man in his thirties was walking along the cycle track which leads from Hob Moor to Tadcaster Road, when he was approached by three men and a sexual assault took place.

The man who reported the incident has cooperated fully with the police investigation and officers are now satisfied that the assault did not take place.

Police have now closed the investigation and intend taking no further action.
