Scarborough police search for missing manScarborough police are appealing for the public to help them locate a missing man.

David Haist, aged 21, from Bridlington, was last seen at his mother’s house, in Longwestgate, Scarborough, where he had been staying, at around 2pm on Wednesday 6 July 2011.

Officers have been making extensive enquiries in Scarborough and his home town of Bridlington throughout the night to locate David and are become increasingly concerned for his safety.

He is described as white, around 6ft tall, with a fair complexion, black hair with a reddish tint, very dark brown eyes and a piercing at the top of his left ear.

When he was last seen he was wearing a black t-shirt, a grey zip-up sweatshirt, grey jogging bottoms and white trainers.

Police are urging any members of the public who have seen David or have any information that can help locate him, to get in touch.

PC Simon Garnett, of Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “David has been missing overnight and the fact that he is vulnerable and doesn’t know the Scarborough area very well is causing us some concern.

“I am appealing for the public to keep their eyes peeled and let us know if they see David. He has been missing for some time now and we need to know that he is safe and well.

“I would also urge David to get in touch if he sees this appeal to let the police and his family know that he is ok.”
