Primeast’s international expansion fuses best of East and West

4 July 2011

Organisational and people development consultancy Primeast is further expanding its global presence with a joint venture which will blaze a trail for leadership development in India.

The business, which engages a network of 140 consultants, facilitators and coaches worldwide, was invited to partner with Venkatesh Desai, a renowned HR authority in India and chief executive of a successful management consulting organisation.

Primeast India’s programmes will fuse Primeast’s powerful global expertise with a wealth of Indian wisdom and best practice to nurture the next generation of business leaders. The venture will also bring new ideas, fresh thinking and best practice from the thriving economy of India to Primeast’s high-profile UK and global client portfolio which includes Xerox, SC Johnson, British Council, ExxonMobil, npower and National Grid.

Headed by its chairman John Campbell, Primeast India’s other directors are all successful business personalities in Europe and India, namely Robin Wood, Sunil Tandon and Venkatesh Desai. Primeast’s Gary Edwards is also a director of the new venture, with Bhushan Desai taking on the role of managing director.

The development is the latest in a series of milestones for Primeast whose expansion in 2010 included launching centres and programmes in Prague and Malawi and a growing client base in the US.

John Campbell said: “This partnership is aimed at releasing and honing the potential of India’s leaders and managers. It will equip them with the skills and learning to fulfil the growing economy’s need for strong management and leadership. Our two decades of expertise in delivering leadership development across the world was the catalyst for being invited to play a central role in this dynamic enterprise. Already we are seeing significant interest in what we can offer: a pragmatic, culturally sensitive approach focused on making a real difference in the business environment, as opposed to simply acquiring academic knowledge.”

Venkatesh Desai commented: “This venture fuses the best of global expertise with local knowledge and wisdom to energise businesses as well as engaging leaders and organisations to enhance their business performance. Primeast is the perfect partner to propel India’s business leaders to the next level.”

The new business, Primeast India pvt Ltd, is also developing an inspiring, eco-friendly learning and development centre at Mulshi, which is situated in spectacular countryside between Pune and Mumbai. The centre will be open towards the end of 2012 and will provide a world-class learning environment for up to 45 people in an outstanding residential setting.
