Harrogate Skate Park officially opened

Harrogate Skate-Park officially opened today (28 May 2011) with a ribbon cutting by the Mayor of Harrogate, Les Ellington and Andrew Jones MP.

The new skate site had been in development since January this year.



The event was attended by over a hundred young people on BMX bikes, scooters and skateboards. Following the official opening, there were  competitions for BMX, Skate and scooters lasting the afternoon with prizes donated by Popcorn Skate of Northallerton and Harrogate Borough Council.

The event had been organised with local skateboard, BMX and scooter enthusiasts, represented by Dave Logan, and with support from North Yorkshire County Council’s Connecting Youth Culture.
