North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (NYFRS) are still at the scene of a fire at a waste recycling business on Thirsk Industrial Estate, which started on the evening of Tuesday 3rd May 2011.
Two fire engines and one officer remain at the site, and are continuing to damp down hotspots.
Due to the extent of fire damage to the building structures Firefighters have not entered any of the buildings which have been on fire and have not been able to establish the cause of the fire, investigations into this will commence as soon as possible.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service wish to advise local residents that the smoke now permeating from the incident is largely steam as result of the water used to extinguish the fire.
