A HARROGATE businesswoman is preparing to expand her design business 18 months after launching.
Italian born interiors specialist Elisa Cirulli has built her reputation whilst working on various residential restoration projects in some of Harrogate’s historic Victorian properties.
Now Elisa, who recently completed a project at Oatlands School and the refurbishment of a large town house near the Stray on Leeds Road, is moving into commercial interior design and has been invited to style several new town centre retail ventures.
She is also planning a series of workshops for people who want to learn how to create their own soft furnishings.
“My passion for interiors began as a young girl when I was growing up in Rome and when I moved to England in my 20s I allowed my Italian design influences to dominate in my own decorating schemes,” she explains.
“Home felt very far away then and I wanted to do everything I could to bring it closer.”
Elisa trained whilst working for a marketing firm in Harrogate. Once qualified she spent two and a half years working as an interior designer for Laura Ashley, covering an area between York and Skipton, before launching Elisa Interiors in January last year.
She splits her time between Italy and North Yorkshire, often bringing back artefacts for herself and her clients.
“No matter where I live, I have things in my possession that are dear to me and when I display them in my house I feel like I am home and that’s the same for everyone.
“My goal is to encourage, motivate and light the creative fire for people I work for so they can learn to have fun with the process and really enjoy it,” she says.
“I hope that by including the business owners I’m currently working with throughout the design process the outcome will be something that will continue to inspire them in their business for many years to come.”
Elisa has been helping us style our new family home in the centre of Harrogate. Helping us choose everything from carpets to tiles to taps. Elisa has been great fun to work with and am sure will continue to be for years to come. We look forward to moving into our new house in a few weeks and showing it off to friends and family.
