Leeds Bus Station closed following stabbing incident

Leeds City Bus was temporarily closed today (18 April 2011) following a stabbing incident this morning.

Officers were called to the bus station at around 11.30am following a report of a 20-year-old woman having been stabbed inside the station. She has been taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident, and enquiries into the incident are being carried out by City and Holbeck CID.

These enquiries include a detailed forensic examination of the scene of the incident within the bus station. As a result, the bus station was closed temporarily while that was carried out.

Commuters were are asked to try to catch their buses from the next stop on their route or use alternative transport.
