29 March 2011

Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a wanted man.

Simon Keith Wilson, aged 27, of Alga Terrace, Scarborough is wanted for recall to prison after breaching the terms of his release licence.

Officers believe that he may be in Harrogate, after his card was used to obtain cash from an ATM in the Jennyfields area, on Friday 25 March 2011.

It is also believed that he has recently been in Wetherby.

Wilson, who was released from prison in January after being sentenced to 13 months for theft, goes by several different aliases.

He also uses the names Ian Docherty, A McDonald, Stephen Petit, Mike Sheldon, John Stevenson, Michael Strike and Ian Wilson.

Inspector Tim Hutchinson, of North Yorkshire Police, said: “Although we don’t believe that Wilson poses any danger the public, it is important that we locate him so he can be returned to prison.

“His home address is in Scarborough, although we believe he has been in Harrogate recently and I am appealing to the residents of those areas to keep an eye out for him and let us know if they see him.”

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Simon Wilson, or has any other information that can help the police locate him, is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 0845 60 60 24 7, quoting reference number 12110047977.
