Police investigate cricket club damage

Police are investigating after Kirk Deighton Cricket club was targeted by vandals.

Sometime between 1 January 2011 and 13 January 2011 a window at the club was smashed and one of the curtains inside set alight.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or knows who is responsible for the damage to contact them with information.

PC Chris Hind, of Harrogate police, said:

“This mindless act has caused around £500 worth of damage to a valuable village resource.”

“It could easily have been much worse but thankfully the fire burnt itself out before getting out of hand.”

“I would urge anyone who can help identify those responsible to contact the police or Crimestoppers with information.”
