Local up and coming Harrogate artist Samantha Smith has teamed up with Bradford’s Peak Studio for her latest project. The album is set to be a seven track recording of Samantha’s music which will be available on iTunes once complete. Samantha says,

“I cannot wait to get back into the studio again, it has been too long.  Since the last EP I have been focussing on my writing and concepts for my next album, I decided to work with Peak Studios because I wanted to keep it local and was really impressed with what they have to offer.”

Samantha was born in 1985 and raised in North Yorkshire. Her passion for music was apparent from an early age, with her first inspiration coming from the well known artist, Alanis Morissette. This drew Samantha to start singing and playing the guitar at the age of eleven and quickly developed her talent and grew to become a conscious singer/songwriter, basing the majority of her music around her guitar.

At the age of thirteen Samantha formed a band and they performed in local bars and clubs. A year later the band went their seperate ways and Samantha then decided to go solo and built up a local following. Whilst performing at a charity event for Martin House Children’s Hospice, Samantha was introduced to the headline act; London based boy band, Damage. Working alongside them Samantha developed a good working relationship and was offered a two year development deal.

Samantha’s next album, titled “different heartbeats” is set to be released April 2011.
